Baltimore Light Pole Thefts Spawns Media Coverage
I appeared on Baltimore's 98 Rock Morning Show today to talk about the recent string of aluminum pole thefts that have plagued the Baltimore region in the past weeks. As noted in a previous post, 30-foot-high aluminum light poles have been dissapearing from Baltimore area roadways as of late, a crime which is baffling authorities. We discussed the increasingly widely held suspicion that the thefts are related to the approaching Festivus holiday and its unprecented high profile this year.
I noted to the shows' hosts that there is no need to resort to illegal means to acquire your festivus pole. THE FESTIVUS POLE is available for home delivery from Frank's Festivus.

OMG! This is so funny. One of my favorite shows on Seinfield. Good Job!
I enjoy the Plug for your thirty foot pole but at the same time the FESTIVUS is for the rest of us and quite frankly i cant afford a thirty foot pole
BRILLIANT! I have posted an entry about you on my blog. Let your words go forth!
We need to get someone to record, "I'll be home for festivus" so the soldiers in Iraq have something to sing this year.
Hey, you people in Baltimore have a lot of time on your hands. What the hell is a festivus pole? Us leprechauns in Ireland don't know.
Just thought you might want a free iPod....

good luck (just need 5 referals)
BYE BYE
that is so cool. can't do that in WI right now- yer hands would frezeze to the pole!
Those 30 aluminum poles could have been taken by an overzealous recycler who got tired of collecting beer cans.
That is just a hilarious interpretation of the thefts, but I think in fact the crimes are committed for the same reason in Baltimore as they are in NYC: the price of scrap aluminum has gone through the roof, and people are cashing in the poles.
Just out of curiousity, 'cause I have to know this, has anybody actually bough this 'festivus' pole from you?!?!?
How have you not been sued by the network yet?
intense!
Either there are alot of Festivus fans out there or there is going to be one hell of a Amazon girl stripper club!

DOWNLOAD AMERICAN EDIT ON DECEMBER 13!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On Tuesday, December 13, 2005, at 12:00 AM Pacific Time, the website http://gray.alt.fm/ will be turned into a portal with over a hundred websites volunteering to mirror (HOST) the mix up of Green Day's Hit Album "American Idiot". It is a mix up of the green day tracks and the classic songs that might have inspired them. You must download it on that day! This mash-up, which is not for profit, is called American Edit, and is by a collective called Dean Gray. This album will be available for only 24 hours, and at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, all the websites will stop hosting the album. This album could actually be called a non-profit chraity effort that helps Green Day, because the only information shown by Dean Gray is a link to the 3 charities Green Day supports.

Oh, I love it! I saw coverage of this last night on our news and laughed...Festivus rocks.

Can a flagpole with a weather-beaten Bears flag on it handle double duty as a Festivus pole? If so, our neighbor is in for a big surprise, particualrly during the airing of grievances.

I dont think that is the reason for the theft, though it would be cool if it were...
They are probably selling them for scrap as they run around 100 bucks each. Drug addicts are still around if you look.
R2K..Bathrooms..Rocketry
Being a Baltimore gal and a Seinfield fan, I saw this and started laughing. Then read the bit about scrap metal and drug addicts. Well we sure do have them here in Bawlmore!
