My wife, brother-in-law and myself don't formally celebrate Festivus, but we do keep an aluminium pole in the kitchen, and also take pleasure in recounting the ways we've disappointed one another over the year.
Two years ago, we didn't get a traditional Xmas Tree, so we used a pole instead.
I live in Detroit and there was a big ceremony for the lighting of the Festivus Tree last week at Campus Martius downtown. The rest of the year you can find small poles in the gentlemen's clubs along 8 Mile Road. Young women use them for spontaneous celebrations.
As festivus is nearly upon us once again I'm not makin' da same mistake I always make every year...

I got a buddy 'o' mine dat's been doin dat MMA (Mixt Marshall Arts) UFC stuff and he's showin' me how ta twist guys arms off and make ankle and knee joints separate in da most unplezant way.
I'm gonna kick my dad's ass good dis year boy I tell ya...
my brudder's gonna be in shock as I easily pass his guard and take side control then slam my bony elbows down across the bridge of HIS nose and cheek bones...
